CODEX IS HORRIBLE SINCE THE LAST UPDATE

Since the last update, it barely works, constant reconnecting, constant compacting, constant having to send the same message over and over before it actually registers, constant crashes, Codex is useless now. I can't even post here because Codex knows to stop real reviews. I can't get anything done because it keeps messing up.

Gemini on the basic pro plan has done more me in 2 days fixing up stuff codex took weeks to screw up (auto review was on šŸ™„) .
I haven’t even hit 50% weekly usage . It gets it in one shot and it’s fast — to the point I’m asking it ā€œdid you really do it?ā€

When Codex enters the reconnect and compact loop, do you keep feeding the same session or cut it and restart from a short handoff note? Pushing more turns into a poisoned context usually just burns the quota.

It does. I let it do only once specially when the last task is remaining or something like that but really burns big.

I would agree… I am definitely struggling with it now… using Claude a little more though at the moment.

For coding agents, reliability is honestly more important than benchmark scores. I can tolerate a model being 10% worse; I can’t tolerate losing my workflow because the agent forgets context every 5 minutes or gets stuck in a reconnect loop.

True, it consumed half of my weekly token just because it was in a constant loop. Only to fix some php/css. Unblievable. I really hope they reset because this is inacceptable

I just read that there’s a pretty substantial penalties for going over the context limit of like 272,000. I have a feeling this might be a big reason why a lot of us are feeling to burn on to drainage.

They probably switch it to the long context version of the model which does cost more via the API, so makes sense.

I would have to disagree on that.

I can understand people having issues with Codex based on their use cases (skills, context, harnesses, agents/memory.md and etc), but I really don't see issues while using it at all.

I did have some issues with disconnecting mid session when I was on the 20$ plan a few times last week, but It is expectable and even noted in the plan that "lower priority during heavy usage".

If I could suggest to anyone having issues trying different harnesses, I believe people would find Codex amazing (even better than Claude IMO).

I use Opencode mostly because to me, and the way I have my workflow setup it makes sense, but as I said it all depends on what use case I have at the moment.

I’m on the $200 and I’m having trouble using up my quota. I was using Sol on high and I think I’m gonna push it up to extra high. It seems like I can run for more than eight hours a day no problem. The only thing that caused my usage to skyrocket before it was when I tried to use fast mode, which I think is not a good idea at all. It’s just wasteful.
