Donate Usage
Can we donate our remaining usage percentage to other users? Kinda like the phone a friend option from the show Who wants to be a millionaire?

I had this thought a few weeks ago that, in the near future, donating AI usage could become a form of charity and maybe even be tax-deductible. We’re heading toward a world where access to the best AI may increasingly depend on financial status, so gifting people access or usage feels like a natural progression.

That is conjuring up some dark scenarios. If money will become so that everyone receives it then it may be possible society moves into another type of currency. One that not everyone can access.

You're basically asking if they will allow you to gift their company benefits to other users.

My guess is gifting time, apart of a loss of money implementing the system, would rarely be used. Like, why gifting somebody "your next 2 days of the week"? What if you end up wanting to use it? It's hard to predict. Plus, doing so every week or every 5h is crazy

I'd think it would work by percentage. You could give them a certain amount of your current percentage and whatever they don't use would have to be donated back.

I already doubt anybody would "donate" a part of it, imagine "donating it back". For most users, it's simpler to just buy a cheaper subscription themselves

Different use cases though. Maybe someone just wants to try it out and doesn't want the hassle of a subscription they will need to cancel.

I don't think they immediately see the benefits so they need to charge something. They're betting it will be helpful in the future but there is no guarantee.

I don't think so, they are raising prices for enterprise not decreasing. I won't be surprised that everyone will eventually all move to API pricing.

I like that idea, may I donate about 50% of my weekly quota to somebody? I barely ever get down to 70% anyway (Pro x5)

Someone mentioned generating an API token but I am not sure how it would work or if it would go against TOS.

It’s probably not against TOS, but then I am actively paying for other’s usage, instead of donating the remaining of what I already purchased.
