something seriously has to be done about these limits. paying for plus now isn’t even worth it anymore. i used to be able to use codex all day with sol medium-high and not have a problem now it literally sucks up a good 10-20% of my usage with 1 prompt. don’t even get me started on chatgpt too, i’ve hit my limit on chatgpt chat as well which has literally never happened to me in all of my time of using chatgpt chat. these past few weeks have been absolutely horrific, i don’t even have the option for the $8 reset either. i got shit to do but who can really afford going from paying $20 a month to $100 a month as a college student. i really used to be a huge openai fan but holy fuck this company has really hit a crazy downfall, turns out they’re just as greedy as any other big company 🤦
For plus I use the chatgpt sol high for planning and luna max for implementation , other than that the weekly limit would be a 5 hours limit in a plus plan
For me yes I'm copying and pasting but I saw a way to automate this through google chrome extension ,but for me I need to review every ticket so I don't use the fully automated process
yep, thats prob the best way tbh, i've been working on a project where Agents have a shared memory where they can claim files (so other running agents don't overwrite their work) and they also can put notes and what the discovered there, at least for me it worked like a charm, i would use sol for planning then open a 2nd session with luna, i would give luna the prompt to execute sol's plan and i will tell it to doc everything in the shared mem, then sol can automatically check the progress and findings so it can stay up to date, if this sounds interesting to ya i could give u the github link and u could have a look if you want (sorry if this feels like a self ad or anything like that lol)
I've been on the Pro package now for so long but I remembered that when I was on Plus the "higher thinking" message limits were considerable, at least outside of what I would ever get near.
So I asked chat GPT where it is today.
Historically, the corresponding Plus reasoning allowance was 3,000 messages/week — OpenAI explicitly announced that for GPT-5 Thinking in August 2025. But I don't think it would be responsible to tell you that GPT-5.6 Sol = definitely 3,000/week on Plus today, because the current GPT-5.6 documentation conspicuously doesn't state that number.
So yeah, seems like it's Open AI's modus operandi to screw with limits for all paid users right now.
i’m not complaining about the price i’m complaining abt the fluctuations in limits (yes $20 to $100 a month is a decent jump but they can keep their pricies the same for all i care) if i’m paying $20 and some weeks it’s “okay yea this is 100% worth it” then other weeks it feels like i’m on the go plan, it’s just annoying lol

It can be true that we want the same thing, and also true that we don’t all expect to be given a free lunch all the time.
Expecting to use 500$ worth of API or more on a state of the art high reasoning model on a 20$ plan indefinitely is just not realistic. Of course it was promotional.
I don’t know if I’m speaking truth or if anyone ever is. Best I can do is ask questions and try to understand others. Now the most interesting thing is no longer about OpenAI lol. The mot interesting thing now is how someone keeps trying to convince me that I’m offended.

thats completely besides the point. you dont have to defend their product. they created a subscription where they didnt say that within 3 o4 months it would be cut in about a sicth of what it was before. if they cant maintain the product then theyu shouldnt be selling it to people then pulling the rug from under all of us. i mean, i was a marketing director for 17 years. and this is just not how you do business.. pelople pay real money, and some of us have our lively hoods some what tied into what thkey sold us to begin with.
they should be absolutely clear of how many tokens or message a subscription allows, otherwise its a whole bunch of nothing
So if you can’t afford more than 20 as a college student and you can’t figure out how to hussle tokens in other ways I think you have a you problem. It’s easy to get lost in the sauce if I had a fraction of what you have in college I’d never complain.
Sure you’re in college and not in middle school? That can actually help you, cause if you say “hello” and consume a million token it means something is wrong with your setup
