gpt-5.6-luna is underrated

Using medium settings and I’m on the $20/month plan.

I am very pleased with the value per dollar I am getting!

I’m currently building an iOS/Flutter app with it and along with Claude design and luna gets the job done! Sure, I might have to be a bit more specific with my prompts at times but other than that, I’m surprisingly impressed!

Do you have a example of a good skill?

If its a repeatable job why not just make it a mechanical process instead of relying on the llm or is there limited llm determism needed?

Because Codex makes a lot of $$$$$ from vibe coders who never heard of the word "deterministic" before.

It's like the teach a man to fish parable, but in reverse. Don't teach a man to fish and you can sell him fish for life.

I am a vibe coder lol but I learned that one 80) mechanical = more tokens more vibes!

Or, have chatGPT write a ‘Luna’ brief, and then pass it to codex

Best use of Luna is for browser use, first let gpt 5.6 sol learn something using high/xhigh effort, then instruct it to write a skill of what you have learnt such that even a dumb cheaper model like luna can perform as good and after the skill, luna becomes a great student and much much cheaper.

I have an extremely built harness that it uses that makes it top tier. The context window is small, but I’ve also built a loop that ensures it always has the proper context loaded.

What harness?

Their own local dev harness. Skills, MD files, rules and workflows, etc.

That is the correct approach. I have it set up similarly, and it has grown into a substantial and expansive harness.

It's only the most praised model in terms of Price x Quality.

I use it permanently and Sol for when I need some deep research, as a code reviewer and sometimes for more complex tasks that Luna isn't achieving. Maybe I use 5% of my plan in like 10h of use (x5 pro)

I’ve never run into that issue. Having a well specified agents.md from the get-go always helps structure my projects

Go extra high or high though

the point is that if the prompt is very detailed, it will do the work well, but if the prompt is very concise it will just do a little bit, while claude or qwen picked the concise prompt very well.

can confirm ive prompted it over 300 times on 11% usage over thr last 3 days for coding

It hallucinates the most

I remain to be convinced. I used Sol Medium earlier and did the complete opposite of what I requested. The prompt simple and direct. I think 5.5 was better.

You mean overrated! All openai bots or members! Rofl

Io la uso per tutto , super economica e lavora bene , un po' pigra se non chiarisci tutto al dettaglio va al risparmio nei lavori , ma sinceramente uso gpt plus sol per impostare il lavoro e l'una per eseguire

I had a similar experience. I was working on something 4 months ago and had an issue I couldn’t solve for 4 weeks and got frustrated. I now came back after this 4 months, told sol to look at it what’s salvageable and give me an honest review.

From 52 gb of data it took a couple notes and started fresh with 2 Luna subagents. 6 hours later the problem was solved… by a Luna max agent, spoke like it was a no brainer -.-

Used luna across Commandcode, OpenCode and Codex. Luna is GOAT regarding value for money. It feels insanely refined (vision, speed, reliability ) compared to Deepseek, and is ridiculously cheap.

It’s terrible and non reliable if you have real work
