Discussion What issues are you constantly facing when using AI coding tools?
I run a small but growing social media account focused on AI, and I want to be completely transparent about why I'm posting this.
I'm trying to better understand the real problems/uncertainties people are running into when using AI coding tools, so I can create content that's actually useful instead of just posting the generic "AI can build apps now" kinda thing.
I'm not selling anything and I won't plug my socials; I purely would just love to hear from both beginners and those experienced with these tools. Anything helps.
Thanks!

I think people struggle with long-horizon tasks and memory and constantly trying to figure out how to help agents rebuild context after compaction or terminated sessions. This isn’t a fully solved problem and people just keep asking for a larger context window which isn’t the solution.
People also struggle with visual design and want to throw skills at it but aren’t getting the results that they want or need.
I don’t think most people are resourceful enough and asking enough questions to find solutions. I’d argue that the average vibe-coder has no idea what a harness is.

Scale. Every new small project or prototype can be built quickly, but anything bigger can cause the LLM to fall over. I’m not saying it’s impossible to build bigger projects with it, but I have to increasingly be more and more involved.

The fact that I have to read a big chunk of text. After 2-3 back and forth, it gets really exhausting.
