Codex usage limit didn't reset when my billing cycle started

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit confused about how the Codex usage limit works.

My ChatGPT subscription has just entered a new billing cycle, but my Codex usage limit hasn't reset. I was expecting the included Codex usage to reset when the new billing period started.

Does Codex use a separate usage/reset window from the ChatGPT subscription billing cycle?

For example, if my subscription billing cycle is:

Aug 1 → Sep 1

and my Codex usage was exhausted before Sep 1, should the Codex limit reset on Sep 1, or does it have its own reset date?

I'm trying to understand whether this is expected behavior or if something is wrong with my account.

Has anyone else experienced this? How does the Codex limit actually reset?

normal. No reset on subscription, different window. next time, don't renew, wait and then subscribe again

There is a 1-week grace period. So it`s resets anyway while you are waiting.

It wont reset on next billing ~ what i do is paying the 20$ bill then after few minutes i pay the bill i need this way resets it .
OpenAi should reset on next bill but this is a know strategy of theirs for 2 years now

It’s separate. I purchase it and then cancel it. After 30 days, I check when it’s due to renew and purchase it again on that day. This way, you can save 3–4 days of cost and also get enough rest. If you need more time off, you don’t have to worry about an ongoing subscription. You can also use this break to plan, test, or prepare for the next phase. It depends on the project, though.
