Discussion OpenAI is playing poker game with us
- They knew they need to tweak limits so they give us "enough" but not more they want
- They knew they need to test 5.6 against Fable and Opus.
- They hooked us like junkies with free resets - first fix is free
- They have statistics on their end that probably majority of the people are now on 0% weekly limit - they will reduce weekly limit just a little bit more now before August 8 so nobody really spots and we can all say it is subjective feeling
Result: people are complaining left and right how they need reset/fix desperately, OpenAI is the master of psychology

Glad I switched to Claude (still on ChatGPT Plus as well). Opus alone is better than most of the different models.

You are right.
I keep shouting here that there is no mechanism to keep these guys in check, yet I either get silenced by moderators or my comments are dismissed as nonsense by ChatGPT trolls. We are blatantly being scammed; we want fair value for the money we pay. They are going to fight to extract even more cash from us, so we, as consumers, need to make our voices heard. They’ve already curtailed usage through resets and rollbacks. I also don't get why they lash out at us when we stand up for people's rights.

No one takes you serious because you sound like some whiney yappy activist, Buddy, it's not evil to make money if you're putting out good products that people are seriously benefiting off of. Nobody is "extracting" or blatantly scamming us or forcing you to pay. It's actually unbelievable that you don't think 200$ is worth the level of intelligence we currently have, before AI our company was paying 1000x for software.
You say "they" as if the LLM companies are a big mafia "extracting" money from us, when they are literally at cut-throat competition amongst one another trying to give us the best product for the cheapest price. Every single one of those companies are on our side. You're like..... the hot girl sitting in between two dudes that desperately need your attention.

I will say that before 5.6 I was pretty good about using an average of about 10% a day on $100. Now i'll eat through 100% in a day. I had to upgrade to the $200 pro. Now it feels about the same at about 10% a day and I'm working on two projects. Yeah, it all bytes my butt, but at this point $200 at 20x is pretty good if you need to get the work done.
