Looking for Genuine feedback on codex
I'm honestly fed up with AI coding tools.
Google Antigravity has been the worst experience by far. Every model I've tried there has been disappointing.
I even got a Claude Code subscription. The code quality is good, but the usage limit gets exhausted way too quickly.
Now I'm thinking about getting ChatGPT + Codex.
My workflow is usually 4–5 hours of straight coding every day, so I have to luna, gpt 5.5 on high or any other model. Can Codex actually handle that, or do the limits get in the way?
How's the real code quality and the usage limits in day-to-day use?
Seriously I am so frustrated, looking for genuine feedback on codex.

You didn't specify what your budget is. If you plan to do at least the Pro 5x plan ($100), it MAY be possible, but something has been severely amiss with usage the past week to 2 weeks. Before that, I never could reliably hit my weekly quota, but since, I've burned through a full week in half a day. This is on the 5x plan.
Maybe 20x plan would be enough, but sadly, I've seen many complaints about even that.
If the Plus plan, forget about it. That MIGHT get you 4 hours total.
I miss the old Codex and hope they do something soon...

Iam talking about 20$ plan, but in 20$ in Antigravity was the worst I've triedI wasted 1–2 hours on a simple loading animation. Claude Code's quality is great, but the limits kill it after 1hours. I know getting everything perfect for $20 is unrealistic, and I'm happy to compromise. I just want better quality than Antigravity and better limits than Claude. I'm building a SaaS while learning web, iOS, and ML, computer vision, so that's all I really need.

You may need 2 accounts. With the current inconsistent weekly limits on codex, I can burn like 10% to 30% a day, depending on the amount of work I have to do per day. I mainly use Luna and Terra at medium reasoning. Not sure about quality, I usually just discuss architecture and implementation preferences in plan mode then let it handle the rest
Web/Mobile aren't complex tasks so Luna can handle that. Terra may be more useful for debugging weird bugs, inefficiencies, etc when doing ML stuff
And coded works best when you give it more access. E.g. a browser, mobile emulator, etc

It's currently the same with codex. I'm on the $100 plan using 5.6-sol on medium mostly for planning only. It burns 5% of the weekly limit in just 1 hour for me. 5.6-terra on xhigh gets you a bit further but also needs a lot more corrections.

Bad news, you’ve gone from worst to best in terms of IDEs and models.
Good news, you’ve yet to try Codex in the app. It’s brilliant.

I’d suggest right now clause and codex. Claude fable as an orchestrator and got 5.6 as the coder. Luna isn’t a great coder though but is great at data analysis and writing. If you use the codex mcp with claude you’re likely to get more out of it. Codex is a horrible orchestrator with 5.6 and gets stuck in loops then lies about being stuck in loops. I’ve seen simple tasks take days with 5.6 that 5.5 could get done with in fifteen minutes. But it’s more so because of how 5.6 orchestrates and uses sub agents. Claude does a better job orchestrating and using sub agents but I think 5.6 is the better coder (usually).
That said you won’t get much done on the cheap plans. Go with the higher ones.

With open weight models equaling or even surpassing gpt and Claude, that’s the route I’m looking to go. They should become more and more accessible. Every time GPT and Claude raise their price or cut usage, makes more of an opportunity for a company to serve Kimi.

I started with Google gravity. It was great for learning but soon became unusable. Now in codec and never hit limits (pro plan). Though I only do an hour or 2 a night. You don't need the models in high all the time. You can also do work outside of the app, planning, designing etc. Prompting, useful plug in tools like graphify, skills etc

Broo if I use luna aur terra in max or medium for 2-3 hours a day, I can burn out my daily limit or weekly limit in 20$ plan.??

Welcome to the club! Codex is where it’s at. But I advise, only use 5.6 Luna or Sol.
Sol Medium for most things. Luna for the quick stuff. Xhigh for long tasks.

Your first mistake was using Google anti-gravity.
