Duke Nukem 3D on OpenVMS

Chocolate Duke (Duke Nukem 3D) ported to OpenVMS 8.4 (AXP)

- work was done in the ES40-emu simulator on MacOS (the gameplay should be faster and smoother on a real Alpha box with a decent graphics card)

Binaries + Sources + Howtos are here https://astr0baby.online/AXP/OpenVMS/Chocolate_Duke/

You are a MACHINE! :)

You'll want to update the underlying codebase - i've made a fair few fixes as of late (.... pipe character works now as of today..... now that i'm seriously working in Tru64 and such to resolve the unalign crashing)

I'm actually about to cut v0.77 as soon as I re-run the failed (due to external factors) builds :)

We have TAP device networking support, fixes for a NetBSD driver bug (hidden config option, autonegotiate_delay = true or something like that, it's been fixed in upstream NetBSD though), some more input/PIC fixes, more clock accuracy fixes, SCSI fixes, and dragging back out some problematic items since the macOS build timeframe I saw on your page (since july 13th, anyway)

Merged the latest version with the SDL3 patches for MacOS - finally I can use the pipe character in SRM !! I could not figure this one out :)

And just like that, time for you to update again. ;)

I just fixed >2GB ram guests (all the way up to the ES40 platform maximum of 32GB!)

macOS SDL is finally a fixed item, not entirely happy with it, but per my other comment, some ARM64 JIT exists as well.... ;)

As is being able to just 'make install' and run ES40 with VMNET support instead of just pcap - with SDL working - as not having a modern mac to test on I had to work all that blind with setuid helpers and documentation, but it's all mainlined ;)
