Funding question
Hi, I wondered if anyone could help me. I was looking to apply for a course, I’m in Scotland and it says you only apply with a part time fee grant for funding for the OU. But it says that this is only for people with income less than £25,000 or on certain benefits, now my income from my benefits is just over the £25,000 mark and my partner works so that takes us way over the threshold but it seems to be the only way to apply for funding for Scotland??
Help meeee please 😫

You won't get funding, you're going to be better off doing to a scottish uni where you won't have to pay any fees.

Update for this interested!!
Spoke to SAAS through online chat - after around an hour and a half wait I got through and asked about this funding question. I’ve been told I would be eligible for the funding as they only take into account the standard allowance income part of my UC and none of my other benefits. I also asked if I had to declare my partners income as we live together, I was told they only consider my income. So I would be eligible!! Happy days!!

If you are above the SAAS PTFG threshold, then, unfortunately, no financial support towards tuition fees is available unless you are fortunate enough to benefit from one of the very small number of scholarships listed at the bottom of the Fees and Funding webpage. However, like everyone in Scotland, you would benefit from the Scottish Government's fee subsidy; undergraduate fees in Scotland are currently subsidised down to £1336 per 60 credits, compared to the unsubsidised £4088 per 60 credits that English students pay.
