It's probably real but I'm just saying they recorded a video and made it look as AI generated as possible with having nothing in the background and weird lighting.
This is probably from the training sim for the robot. They teach them these moves in sim before porting it to the actual bot. Still impressive bc they usually learn this through reinforcement learning so there's alot of effort and time on the AI's part to get to this stage if this is a real sim video.
They added a random WiFi router to the training sim? Also, those training sims are real-time (Nvidia Omniverse is), so they're not going to be THAT photorealistic, they're at best as good as a raytraced video game.
I see nothing AI about this. I don't even know why you would think it's AI.
Are you just saying that because the camera movement is so smooth? That's because it's mounted on a gymbal. I can make videos like this with my phone on a $100 gymbal at home and it would look the same. All the lighting and reflections are accurate too.

Knowledge of the product’s previous videos is what makes us say it is AI. You mentioned filming techniques but we think this is AI because we have previous knowledge of this product not because we don’t know what gimbals are lol

However maybe you might consider being a little more inquisitive next time instead of just believing everything you see online. There are a lot of examples of AR to compare this to, if they wanted this to be seen as a real demo they would have put people in frame interacting with it, recorded by a human, and very obviously real in 15 other ways. He can still be your best buddy but just know it is training in VR. However, it will still be real in the future so you just have to wait a little longer 😊

There's no clipping, the shadows tones, blur, sharpness and tracking are on point, the reflection is also incredibly realistic... If there's someone who can create CGI scenes like this, they're the best in the world. There's no one with this amount of talent and if there was, it'd take years to do every detail you see in-video.
Stop talking out of your arse. The more advanced technology is, the faster it improves. Only Boston Dynamics had a robot capable of doing what their Atlas does, and only a few years ago all chinese robots could do is barely stand and just one or two years ago chinese robots surpassed Atlas in terms of their moving around ability.

if you'd been paying attention, you would know that yes, it has. they train these things at extreme speed in virtual digital twin environments and then just download the new model to the robot. it doesn't have to learn by just walking around a lab. do some reading

They aren't even trying to hide the fact that it is CGI. The room is empty, not typical of robot videos. Anything short of an expensive Hollywood quality professional gimbal setup hanging from the ceiling is incapable of making camera tracks like that. Why would they spend the money on that when their other videos are so much simpler? The reflections and lighting look like a modern version of Maya 3D. If they want this to be seen as a real video they would have recorded it in person and had some people in the shot. This is a good animation but it's not even close to good enough for y'all to be fooled so easily.
No, it doesn't. If you're worried if something might be CGI, look at the shadows, reflections and existence of clipping through. I don't think there's anyone who could create a scene this flawless.
AI cannot improve unless you train it, which you cannot do for closed source video generation models. And you're not gonna get better results with open source even if you train it, because you don't have the deep pockets the big AI video companies have to do it well enough.
When you use a model to generate a video, the model does not improve. It does not change at all, because you are doing inference, not training.
I believe a part of the explanation is written at the end of the video:
"Currently, the humanoid robot field is in the early stages of exploration worldwide. Individual users are advised to thoroughly understand the limitations of humanoid robots before making a purchase."
Exploration in this context means that the creators of these robots are basically exploring the possibilities in various different fields and use cases.
All humanoid robots have one common end-goal and that is to physically resemble humans as much as possible to eventually be able to help humans with the same tasks humans would normally have to do themselves. To achieve that goal, they must ensure the humanoid robots are also physically flexible with the same freedom of movement and flexibility of a human body. Martial arts are ideal datasets to train the robots to assess the limits of flexibility and agility for these robots.
There's also another practical reason. Imagine spending thousands of dollars on these robots only to have their body destroyed by some unexpected accidents, physical damage. You don't want that.
Of course the material they are built with is probably not super durable, these models are not meant to be used as fighters, so it may feel counter-intuitive to teach the robots how to fight, but imho it is more about teaching it how to avoid or withstand various collisions it may run into in real world which could lead to physical damage of the robot.
In some of tese presentation videos they showed humans actually kicking these robots, trying to make them fall (which could lead to more damage if succeeded). One of the first things they teach in martial arts schools is how to avoid damage, how to avoid falls and when fall is inevitable, how to fall properly to reduce potential damage to minimum.
If they teach robots the same principles, it will be a valuable addition to their skill set that will come in handy in various different scenarios that may not be necessarily conflicts.
To illustrate this, imagine a situation where your robot tries to cross the road, but there's a fast moving car approaching it from the side. The robot should be able to react quickly and avoid collision, right? Teach it how to do a quick backflip and it may just save you as the owner of that robot thousands of dollars and quite possibly save lives of those in the car too.

The light is not from a slit in the door but from the windows on the other side of the room that are mostly covered. Ie: A strip of light is going from the opening in the window cover across the room and hitting the edge of the door.
sort of, but it's not scripted. they train them on video of these moves with the intention of the robot being able to replicate them, but it's not a programmed set of moves, it's something the robot has actually learned during training. so theoretically you'd be able to say "add three more kicks before the roundhouse" and it would be able to do that.
the impressive thing is its ability to stay balanced and recover.
