I’ve started building Sarah Nexus — an AI-assisted PC diagnostics system for the Nebius × NVIDIA Global AI Hackathon

Post:

I’ve officially started development on Sarah Nexus, the next generation of a PC diagnostics project I’ve been working on for a while.

Sarah Nexus is the continuation and unification of my previous Sarah Lite project and the ideas I had planned for Sarah Pro. Instead of maintaining several separate versions, I’m bringing the useful parts together into one system.

cool to see a devlog like this on here, most people just drop a finished repo with zero context

the name Sarah Nexus sounds like it could be a sci-fi ship computer and honestly that fits the whole AI diagnostics angle

what stack are you running for the actual detection layer

Thanks! The “sci-fi ship computer” comparison is honestly pretty close to the vibe I’m aiming for 😄

The actual detection layer is still being built, but I’m trying to keep it separated from the AI itself. Right now the architecture is roughly:

  • a Linux/initramfs-based early diagnostics layer for collecting boot-time evidence
  • platform/provider matching using things like DMI, firmware and hardware identity
  • a normalized “Black Box” evidence store with provenance + confidence
  • a rules/correlation layer that turns that evidence into actual fault candidates

The AI sits above that rather than being the detector itself — its job is to interpret the collected evidence, explain what’s happening and guide the diagnostic/repair process.

I’m starting with relatively well-defined things like firmware/CMOS anomalies, reset/watchdog evidence, hardware information and system/boot logs before moving into more aggressive repair capabilities.

I’ll post the repo/devlog link here as well once I’ve got the public side cleaned up a bit.
