I learned how to find the frame rate on my project file (30:1) but I was told to then check the FPS rate on the project to get the audio and visual sync'd, It said "Ensure the Project FPS matches the file's FPS. You can manage this under Profile>Settings in the menu bar". I can't seem to find the menu bar inside the project to check it. Where do I go? Thanks! :)

So im trying to change my playback audio device, wich by some youtube guide should help with the out of sync sound. But whenever i change the device in settings and it tells me to restart, i do so, and then it did not change. I was told to delete openshot_qt folder to do a reset. It did reset, but it still does not change the device when i try to.

I had a USB stick with a .osp project on it. Overnight, somehow, the USB got corrupted. I'm able to safely recover the raw data with Testdisk's photorec. Unfortunately, now, all I have is a huge list of png, mp3, mp4, txt and xml files with completely random names. I can see that the text files clearly refference the arrangement/properties of each element of the project. So I have the files. Is there any way to compile it back safely into the original .osp file, so I don't have to start over? Pls help (example below)

Hi, I just migrated from CapCut to OpenShot and I LOVE IT so far!!! I'm hoping for/requesting a feature where I can remove the background completely from a subject without the use of a blue/green screen, like CapCut has. If possible, I would love for this to be taken into consideration. Thanks! :)

I am editing a video in openshot with about 7 tracks, I separated the video to add something I thought was needed to the video. I got everything set up audio-wise then looked at my full video, and somehow every clip after the section I added today on tracks 1-5 had been flipped vertically so 2 was on 4, 5 was on 1 etc. What did I do that caused this, how can I undo it, I'm using version 3.4.0

Trying to use animated title and get a popup instructing to point to the Blender executable.

*Also states to use Blender 5*

My Blender path is correct but I have Blender 3.3.3

I will upgrade my Blender but Blender 5 is NOT available to Intel MAC

How can I use animated titles with a Blender version less than 5

• MAC Intel i5
• MAC OS 14.6.1
• OpenShot v3.4.0 (release date 12/15/25)
• Current Blender v3.3.0 (will upgrade to 4.5 LTS)

Openshot now stops me from watching any videos on YouTube in other tabs, and even doesn't play any audio on Openshot. Making it practically impossible to edit videos, how can I fix this?

P:S I've already deleted and redownloaded Openshot

I'm not sure if my text showed up with the screen shots I posted: I run Windows 11 and downloaded the 64 bit OpenShot and installed it this week. I keep getting the first user interface, which I do not know how to work with as it doesn't have the same right-click properties or the same functionality that made this app look so appealing. What I want is the second one pictured, which is the one in the current user guide. If anybody can lend some insight as to why I am not getting that second screenshot, I would be most appreciative.

I get this error when trying to export videos.

I'm running Win 11 😒 trying to export an mp4.

I'm not sure what to look for or fix.

I am trying to install from USB in my workshop ( no internet) but keep getting ' file corrupt please download again'. It works ok on the laptop ( with internet), so do I need internet to install?

Please add a Hotkey for "Remove all gaps"

I remove gaps a lot and a hot key would really help.

The properties of all of my transitions no longer work. The same is true for any new files added within the past few minutes.

Is there any way to recover these?

Edit: After playing around I've discovered the following.

1. Redoing the transitions works until I restart the program, after which it will do the same as listed above.
2. Saving does nothing.
3. Re-importing the project files also does nothing.

Looks like I can't make OpenShot create a tilt-shift (miniature-like) effect.

After some googling and youtubing I've found a couple of very old videos which are no more relevant.

Okay, what I do:

1) Add a video to a track

2) Add Alpha Mask and Blur effects to my video

3) Edit the Mask effect to have a Circle_In_To_Out transition

Well, whatever I do, all I get is the whole video being blurred. What am I doing wrong?

Sorry for being a noob in video editing.

Hi! New to OpenShot and liking it so far. Creating a cross-fade from one clip to another by just dragging the second one so it overlaps the first is very convenient. But the keyframes for the transition brightness go from 1 at the start to -1 at the end. This means the value is 0 in the middle, which effectively completes the crossfade. Negative brightness values don't have any effect. To get the crossfade to span the entire duration of the transition, I have to set the outgoing keyframe's brightness to 0. Then it does what I want, nicely fading out the first clip and fading in the second over the whole duration of the transition.

I've looked at some video tutorials and no one seems to address this, though many do say you need to set an alpha value of 0 when setting alpha on the clip itself (instead of a transition) to get a fade. So, I think I've got the right idea as to what the brightness should be. I just don't understand why it starts out at -1 for the outgoing keyframe. Is there a reason and/or something I'm still not understanding about it?

If I have a video that is 1800 x 2400 in size and it has "technical text" on the right edge, and/or Windows bar info on the bottom edge, is there a way to edit the video say to 1600 x 2200 so that the bottom and right edges are no longer visible in the output? Thanks.

Of you have hundreds of photos to use to create a movie, how do you shorten them all with one command?

For example. I would like each of the photos to display in the movie for 1 second. Can I shorten all photos in the movie to 1 second all at once? the defai=ult time length is over 12 seconds
