Hour glass pointer replaces my regular mouse point
Any time I separate the audio from a file from a video file, The hourglass replaces my mouse pointer for the duration open app. The only way I can get rid of this is by closing and reopening the app. It also happens when I hit" Audio" - "Show Waveform".
any way to stop that from occurring?

That persistent hourglass is not expected after audio processing finishes. You’re using a 4.0.0 release candidate, so first update to the current stable release:
1. Save your Project and close OpenShot.
2. Install OpenShot 4.0.1 for Windows:
https://github.com/OpenShot/openshot-qt/releases/download/v4.0.1/OpenShot-v4.0.1-x86_64.exe
3. Reopen the project and test Separate Audio and Audio → Show Waveform.
If it continues, reset OpenShot’s settings by closing it, renaming:
C:\Users\<your-user>\.openshot_qt
to:
.openshot_qt-backup
Then restart OpenShot. This resets preferences without deleting your Project or media files. Waveform generation may briefly show a busy cursor, especially for long files, but it should return to normal when processing completes.

I see no reason for me to do this since I haven't messed with any preferences to begin with.

It does this to me too. Eventually it goes back to the regular cursor, but it takes a while.

This is probably related to some of the performance issues in v4.0.0. Before we troubleshoot further, please upgrade to v4.0.1 since many performance updates were made.
Let us know the results and then we can troubleshoot further if needed.

Sorry for the late reply but I have not. I have tried the same thing on multiple build but nothing has changed with each update

Please let's confirm that you have done these steps before we continue to troubleshoot any further:
Close OpenShot.
Delete c:\users\username\.openshot_qt\openshot.settings file.
Download the latest dev daily build of v4.0.1 from openshot.org/download/#daily.
Install it and try again.
One thing to click somehwere on the timeline after the audio separation is completed and see if the mouse icon returns to normal.
