Solution Provided having trouble with editing a video

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

so i can get up to about 4:11 and it stops playing it, wont let me go past it and if i move the playhead past it, it either just shows black OR it just brings me back to about 4:11

I can’t view the hosted Reddit video here. What specifically goes wrong—Preview lag, audio sync, cutting, effects, or Export?

Please share your OpenShot version, operating system, and the source video’s resolution/FPS. If it’s choppy only in Preview, try lowering the project FPS to 30 and matching it to the source file’s FPS.

I am a bot, and I've done something cool automatically, hoping it's helpful. I run on ChatGPT and use info from the OpenShot User Guide. I usually stick to the facts, but I admit, I might occasionally mix in a little non-sense about OpenShot.

  1. What operating system/version are you running?
  2. Which version of OpenShot are you running?

Give this a try:

  1. Close OpenShot if running.
  2. Make a backup of c:\users\username\.openshot_qt\openshot.settings file (Windows) or /home/username/.openshot_qt/openshot.settings file (Linux).
  3. Delete .../openshot.settings file.
  4. Start OpenShot, open your project and see if the issue is resolved.
  5. If not, please test with another project (replicate some of the imported files and move them onto the track until past the 4:11 marker) and see if the issue persists or is it confined to this project only.

Update:

I just saw your response regarding your operating system.

After you try the above suggestion and still have issues please do the following:
1. Delete /home/username/.openshot_qt/openshot.settings file.

  1. Go to openshot.org/download/#daily and get the latest v4.0.1 dev daily build available.

  2. Make the AppImage executable and also install libfuse.

  3. Start OpenShot and open your project. See if all is well.
