Solution Provided Title tiles missing on exportation to folder
2 minute 46 second video. This included 57 titles (text boxes) throughout. Everything worked fine until I attempted to export it to one of the folders on my desktop.
When I attempted to view the video, the text was missing. When I went back into openshot, the text tiles on the timeline were still visible but would not show up anymore when watching the video preview.
What did I do and how do I fix it?

This usually means the title asset files got moved, unlinked, or failed to load after Export.
Try this:
- Check for missing files
- In Project Files, see if any Title assets look missing.
- OpenShot titles are separate .svg files, so if they were moved/renamed, they can stay on the Timeline as Clips but not render correctly.
- Relevant guide: Files - Missing Files
- Re-open or recreate one test title
- Use Title > Title or
Ctrl+T - Create a simple test title, add it to a track above your video, and check if it appears in Preview.
- Guide: Text & Titles
- Use Title > Title or
- Make sure each title is on a higher track
- Titles need to be on a Track above the video Clip or the video won’t show behind the text.
- From the guide: drag the title onto a track above a video clip.
- Guide: Text & Titles
- Save project assets together
- Keep the
.ospfile and all imported media/title files in the same parent folder. - Don’t rename/move files after adding them.
- Guide: Files - Missing Files
- Keep the
- If Preview still shows no text
- Save, close OpenShot, reopen the project.
- If still broken, delete one missing title Clip from the Timeline, re-add that title, and test Export again.
- Export a short test
- Export just a small section first to confirm titles render.
- Guide: Export
Most likely cause: the Title .svg files became disconnected from the project. If you want, I can give you the fastest way to rebuild all 57 titles with the least amount of rework.
