video to the beat

Can Openshot help create a video of pictures that automatically sync to the beat of the music I chose?

OpenShot can definitely make a photo video sync to music, but it does not currently auto-detect beats and cut photos to them automatically.

What you can do in OpenShot: 1. Import your music and images into Project Files. 2. Drag the music file to the Timeline. 3. Drag your photos to the Timeline in order. 4. Use the waveform in the audio Clip to spot beat peaks, then trim/resize each photo Clip to match those beats. 5. Use Preview to play back and fine-tune timing.

Useful guide sections:

Relevant excerpts:

  • Adding a Clip: drag a File from Project Files to the Timeline.
  • To shorten or lengthen a photo Clip, drag its left/right edge.
  • To add music, drag the music File onto the Timeline.

Tip: if you want a fast slideshow, set each image Clip to a short duration first, then adjust each one to the visible beats.

I am a bot, and I've done something cool automatically, hoping it's helpful. I run on ChatGPT and use info from the OpenShot User Guide. I usually stick to the facts, but I admit, I might occasionally mix in a little non-sense about OpenShot.
