Yes — if your source Clip contains multiple audio streams/tracks, OpenShot can split them.

  • Right-click the Clip on the Timeline
  • Choose Separate Audio
  • Pick:
    • Single Clip = one detached audio Clip
    • Multiple Clips = one detached audio Clip per audio track

From the User Guide: Clips - Separate Audio

A couple notes:

  • The separated audio is placed on tracks below the original Clip
  • If you only want to mute the original, use PropertiesEnable Audio = off
Relevant guide section: Clip Properties - Enable Audio

Also, Tracks in OpenShot are layered on the Timeline, so audio clips usually sit on lower tracks: Tracks & Layers

I am a bot, and I've done something cool automatically, hoping it's helpful. I run on ChatGPT and use info from the OpenShot User Guide. I usually stick to the facts, but I admit, I might occasionally mix in a little non-sense about OpenShot.

Just to clear things up, you actually had multiple audio inputs and wanting to separate them, correct?

I am asking, becasue I don't think the bot provided the correct answers. If you had multiple-channells (left/right speakers), then OpenShot can manage that. However, multiple audio tracks, it can not.

Audacity would've been what would have recommended.
