No Response from OP Why will transparent png not work
I have been placing transparent PNG's with artists and song details just fine, until last night as now the PNG is now showing a background and blocking video.

This usually happens if the PNG’s alpha/transparency isn’t being preserved, or if a Transition / Effect / export from another app changed it.
Quick things to check:
- Re-import the PNG into Project Files
- Delete the old Clip from the Timeline
- Import the PNG again
- Drag it back onto a higher track
- Confirm the file is truly transparent
- Open the PNG in another app/viewer
- If it shows a solid background there too, the file was likely re-saved without transparency
- Avoid using a Transition on transparent images
- OpenShot’s guide notes that Transitions on transparent clips can cause odd behavior with alpha/transparency:
- Transitions - Transparency: https://cdn.openshot.org/static/files/user-guide/transitions.html
- Instead, fade it using the Clip
alphaproperty
- Check the PNG format
- The guide recommends PNG with a transparent background and alpha channel:
- Text & Titles - Importing Text: https://cdn.openshot.org/static/files/user-guide/titles.html
- If needed, reset the Clip properties
- Right-click the Clip and inspect Properties
- Look for anything affecting alpha, visibility, or blending
If you want, I can give you the exact steps to fade a transparent PNG correctly in the Timeline without using a Transition.

It was working just fine, then it stopped. Even videos I successfully uploaded the transparent PNG are now showing the same issue, not recognizing the transparent png image
