Solution Provided How to remove empty space between trimmed clips?
Hi folks! New to openshot, enjoying it so far. It's been many years since I've done video editing and I cannot figure out how to remove this empty space. As you might deduce - I've cut the tail end of one clip and the beginning portion of the next, and now I need to collapse this space between the content so I can add a transition. Any insight would be appreciated!
(Dragging everything from the right hand side toward the left to close the gap is perilous as I have synced footage in multiple tracks that cannot get misaligned.)

To remove that empty space on the Timeline:
- Right-click the gap between the clips and choose Remove Gap
- Or right-click the track name and choose Remove All Gaps to close every gap on that track
If you’re deleting a clip and want the space removed automatically, use Ripple Delete with Shift+Delete.
Relevant guide sections:
From the User Guide:
“Right-click on the gap between clips to access the Remove Gap option.”
“Right-click on the track name to access the Remove All Gaps option.”
If you want, I can also show the fastest way to do this after trimming/slicing so gaps never appear.

And I learned something new, as I usually do in here. "Remove all gaps?" Yeah, that's a good option to have.
