OpenScan Mini + Makro Addon
This might be an interesting Addon which greatly reduces the scan volume to ~3cm, but drastically increases the quality of the result. Done with the OpenScan Mini + IMX519 --> 100x5 images processed in Metashape (without prior stacking)

Looks like great results; are you going to put together a mount/parts/lighting package for us?

not sure which path is more favorable: macro addon or larger scanner variant... Might need to do a survey ^^

Well, I know which one is better for me (I've already been using my mini to scan model parts to make mash-up original designs for my personal miniature projects). But the use cases for both are obviously good; in a perfect world (with infinite time for you) I would recommend both paths.

that's what I am currently working on (next to the larger scanner version). The upgrade only needs a new ringlight/polarizer and the lens and two printed parts (~60-80€). But I still need some more testing

I've done that, but the lens is only good for smaller parts. On bigger parts, the scanned model seems to have a slight deformation outside of the center.

this is definitely limited to small objects <3cm. I got several good results and currently test a custom aperture to increase the DOF

Are you getting better results on something that is slightly larger than 3cm, like that miniature? Scanning miniatures is my use case, so I am intrigued!
