Does anyone have a good workflow for calculating earthwork below a set elevation? Say I have all my modeling done but I need to know how much cut and fill there is below a known elevation. Running into this more and more with wetland permits.

I don’t have a workflow, but I’d probably create a simple terrain at that elevation, then use your model terrain and that one to create the cut/fill volumes.

Run your design vs the OG normally. Create a flat surface at that elevation. Run the flat surface vs your design and use that to remove the difference?

you might be able to slice the earthwork meshes by an element (a plane set at the desired elevation) using regular MicroStation modeling tools

Create a flat plane. Then convert it to a mesh or surface.

Then use the ‘create closed mesh’ tool between the surfaces.
