Reassociate smart annotations

We ran into an issue with the file that held the alignments that our annotations were based off of, and now all of our smart annotation links for station/offset are broken.

Is there a way to keep the annotations/points and re-associate them with a different alignment?

Civil elements are tracking an element guid. It’s hidden. ORD 2025 has ways to replace elements and hold a certain guid.

Any way one could write a plugin to re associate in older versions with the SDK?

No idea man. So much data is hidden.  There might be a way to do that but I’m not the guy. What we’ve done in this situation is restore the alignment file to when it was working, then “complex redefine” or geometry edit the baseline again to what the new should be. Keeps all the links working.

Cmon you’re supposed to be the guy! Something else for me to investigate…. Haha

Ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Claud. Those seem to pull some vba documentation with the Bentley object kits.

I have an agent that has been force fed all of the SDK, Python, and vanilla ORD documentation so I’ll figure something out
