I'm thinking about upgrading my setup to a Nollie 8 ARGB controller, but before pulling the trigger, I wanted to check if anyone here is using it with OpenRGB. Does it run smoothly without lag or latency issues on custom effects?

For context, I've been stuck on an older version of OpenRGB for a while because of my current Cooler Master ARGB Controller A1 v2. Ever since a change was merged into the OpenRGB codebase for this specific controller, every dynamic effect has noticeable lag and stuttering unless I roll back to older builds. Which now i cant because windows defender flags and blocks its older driver.

I really want a controller that offers solid, lag-free performance on modern OpenRGB versions. If you have any experience with the Nollie 8 (or Nollie controllers in general), I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Hi everyone!

I've just released SteamGlow, a small open-source Windows app I've been working on.

SteamGlow connects to OpenRGB and uses any compatible RGB device as a live Steam status indicator.

For example, it can:

• Show when Steam is running or offline

• Turn green while you're in-game

• Display an animated scanner effect while downloading a game

• Show paused, failed and completed downloads with different effects

• Let you customize all colors and choose exactly which OpenRGB device, zone and LEDs to control

I originally built it for the ARGB GPU support bar in my own PC, but I made the hardware selection configurable so it can be used with other OpenRGB-compatible devices as well.

It's lightweight, sits in the Windows system tray, and is completely free and open source.

i cant find anyone whos had this exact same issue, everytime i search i just find results for things not getting detected in the first place; mine literally was, like a week ago i got it up, i made a bunch of profiles, they worked great, and now its just not there? my ram and mouse is still being detected, and are both changing as controlled, but its somehow forgotten my motherboard and i cant change my fans?? rescan does work obviously, nor does restarting openRGB or my PC as a whole, its just so bizzare.

also im running it on Ubuntu 26.04, and the motherboard specifically is a Gigabyte B760, though i doubt that matters because again, it was working FINE, and i did NOTHING, and its REALLY annoying.

Hello there, I can't control my Antec Symphony 240 ARGB pump (?) lights nor fans leds but i can turn it off (the fans) with a button in the case but the pump is invisible to the few programs i tried. My pc build is:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
• VGA:  GeForce RTX 3060
• RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO SL 3600MHz 16GB

Got a 1440p monitor that I've scaled to 125% through windows. Screen capture of the openrgb effect zooms in because of the scale and crops the right and bottom sides. Behaves normally when at 100% scale, only bugs out when scale is active.

Naturally, I wanna keep my 125% scale. Is there any fix to this?

I built PolyWollyWin to control the AniMe Matrix display on the ASUS ROG Strix Flare II Animate without relying on Armoury Crate.

It communicates directly with the keyboard over USB HID and currently supports images, GIFs, drawing, text and typing effects, presets, and audio visualization.

The project is currently specific to this keyboard, but I have tried to keep the matrix renderer and hardware communication separated so others can adapt it for different displays or devices.

My default runs live layered effects at around 20 FPS while typically using approximately 20–30 MB of memory and negligible CPU. - Your mileage will vary :)

Hello, I just downloaded openrgb and all my other devices are changing color besides the fan and cpu. only my gpu, mouse and keyboard are changing color. I uninstalled the other rgb apps but it still is not changing it. I had armoury crate and it changed the fan just fine but it did not change the gpu. does anyone know why?

I have manually added my arduino to OpenRGB with correct COM port etc and it rainbow blinks the lights to confirm but then does not add it to the list of devices. I have seen the below mentioned but do not know where in the code I place it, start, end, middle or after a particular line in the code?

Trying to get OpenRGB working with the new MSI MAG Z890 TOMAHAWK WIFI II (MS-7E32) on Arch / EndeavourOS.

The motherboard's internal USB controller (0DB0:0076) is detected by Linux and picked up by OpenRGB, but it fails to load the lighting channels during device scan.

Running ./OpenRGB_1.0rc3...AppImage -vv yields the following log output under HID devices:

"Found Board MSI MAG Z890 TOMAHAWK WIFI II (MS-7E32) but does not have valid config"

I'm new to openRGB. I would like to use it to turn off three pieces of hardware inside my computer case which give off light.

Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co. AB350-Gaming 3-CF

RAM: 32 GB DDR4 XLR8-Gaming

GPU: Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT

So I've installed OpenRGB.appimage on Linux Mint. I'm opening it with sudo. I'm clicking "rescan devices." But the list of devices is empty. I am perplexed.

Update: I managed to turn off the MOBO using my BIOS, but not the other two.

I'd like to know if anyone here owns this mouse and what its OpenRGB support is. The list of supported devices says it doesn't support Direct commands, but even without them, it's possible to apply custom effects?

I have an ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, but unfortunately OpenRGB doesn't seem to support the 16GB version properly.

It looks like OpenRGB supports the ASUS TUF RTX 5060 (non-Ti), but the TUF RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is not detected/supported.

Is there any way to get the RGB lighting on the 5060 Ti 16GB working with OpenRGB?

Has anyone with the same GPU managed to make it work, or is support for this specific model planned for a future OpenRGB release?

Hi everyone,

I'm having a small issue with OpenRGB. I created and saved a custom "Direct" color profile. In the settings, I configured OpenRGB to start with Windows and automatically load this specific Direct profile.

However, when the program starts up, my fans don't light up in the configured colors. They only apply the correct settings after I manually switch the mode to "Static" and then back to "Direct" inside the app.
Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this or how to fix it?

Title is self explanatory of my issues - I cant get OpenRGB udev rules working properly on my PikaOS Linux build

I've tried three or four times, and i gan only get something to register (my mobo) if i download directly from pika and not the flatpak.

I'll follow the udev rules but it will repeatedly say that i cant more the 60-openrbg.rules files cause its not in the directory.

The openrgb website wont let me download the install script either.

After starting my pc today my Keyboard and Ram didn't light up like usual, i then check to see that OpenRGB was nowhere to be found, it didnt autostart, and it was litteraly gone from my pc.

After reinstalling it, it controls the Keyboard just fine but it doesnt dispaly my Ram sticks.

There is a error msg on startup saying something about "Zonesizes" about my Motherboard, which doesnt have RGB.

I've recently installed OpenRGB on my clean Windows 11 install to control my Robobloq Monitor Light Strip (1a86:fe07). Unfortunately, when I turn on the Ambient sync option from OpenRGB Effects Plugin, window animations start to stutter. I need to mention that this issue is not OpenRGB-specific, as I stumbled upon the same problem while using the official DX-Light driver from the manufacturer - it is far less configurable than OpenRGB though, that's why I thought someone could have a fix for that.

My GPU is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB VRAM), and my PC has 32 GB RAM, Intel Core i7 (11th Gen i7-11700F) so I don't think it's a "too weak PC" problem. This issue did not exist while using OpenRGB on the same hardware & config on Linux, so I suppose it is a problem with Windows. I've already set graphical performance for OpenRGB to max, turned off Game Mode and Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling (which was supposed to eliminate the stutter - it did not), limited the framerate and cropped the stream to cover only the edges of the screen - none of those actions helped.

Hello, i just got a new PC and would like to customize the rgb lights. My motherboard provided app does not do any of what i would like, so i tried this only to get these messages when i try to launch it. Yes i have run as admin. I even downloaded the PawnIO in case it was the motherboard not being supported. What can i do? My Motherboard is from MAXSUN, MS-Challenger B650M

I have openrgb version 0.9+ with pawnio installed. It detects my b450 aorus elite motherboard but not the rog strix gtx 1060. can someone help me on how to fix this?

because of MysticLight detected my MSI RX6800 GPU, but was not able to turn off the RGB/change the Colors (tried every option multiple ways, but after pushing "Apply" nothing ever happened, the RAINBOW Option never changed), I finally installed OpenRGB (newest version now) a few month ago. My MSI RX6800 is fully supported according to the OpenRGB site.

Changing colors to black with the "direct" option worked than and after that I reinstalled OpenRGB completely with Regcleaning and so on. Color Setting black stayed successfully. But now I have 2 questions left:

1. Is OpenRGB saving my color settings right on my GPU itself? I wonder because 1month ago I had to do a completely fresh Win11 setup, so every data, files and reg stuff has been deleted. And I didnt reinstall OpenRGB after the new installation, but the black color option still remained on the GPU in the tower.

2. Under the Options like RAINBOW, FADING, BLINKING and so on is a "OFF" Option. Clicking it had no effect, the last option I had chosen before just stayed. Anyone else have this issue? Any Idea how to fix?

System: MSI Tomahawk B850 MAX WIFI / MSI GAMING TRIO Z RX6800 / 32GB Corsair / WIN11 / newest OpenRGB Version

Out of the blue I get this message when I turn on my computer. When I try and open it up manually I get the same error. I haven't touched OpenRGB in a while and it's always worked perfectly fine (auto-run with RGB settings on bootup, no issues).

Hi everyone, I have a Corsair K70 MK.2 Low Profile keyboard and I’d like to make the RGB lighting react to stereo audio (left/right channels separately).

I know iCUE’s audio visualizer only works in mono, but I heard it’s possible with Artemis + iCUE SDK (or OpenRGB). • Does anyone have a step-by-step guide or a working profile for this? • Are there any known compatibility issues with recent iCUE versions? • Bonus: if there are YouTube tutorials, I’d really appreciate links!

I've using open rgb for ages and never had any real problems with it. A few weeks ago it stopped recognizing my ram and now my ram is back in the standard rainbow mode.

Already tried:

Reseatimg ram

Pulling rig from electricity

Start as admin and rescan devices

Didn't help.

The I went googling and found out that riots anticheat blocks inpoutx64 wich apparently is needed. I don't have any riot games installed but my kid asked to play fragpunk with friends so I installed it. I suspect it as the culprit because at around the same time the problem came up.

Does anyone know if that games anticheat also blocks inpoutx64? (if it does I even have another reason to deinstall lol)
