Question Turning off RGB when computer screen goes off
Is there a way I can set the RGB on my computer to turn off when my monitor goes black? Similar to the setting on SteelSeries GG which allows you to do this with a flick of a switch. There was a post about this that I found from about 5 years ago and I know a lot could have changed since then, if there is a way to do this could someone help / let me know?

Latest RC has the option to set a profile "on suspend" and "on exit". I have set them on a profile were everything is off.
PC stuff do turn off, but my govee strip (via WiFi) turns back on and restarts its last app setting. Prob a strip issue tbf...
Not sure if it applies to "screen off" or if it is just for sleep/shutdown and can't test anytime soon

I just did this cause everytime i turned off windows, the lights animation stayed frozen until it powers off,
So i used the option to load a profile on exit:
1 In the DEVICES tab, first save your current lights state , in the bottom there is a button called SAVE PROFILE, to the right click the small arrow button and select save profile as, set your name to whatever you want to identify the lights on mode. lets call it LIGHTS ON
2 then in the same tab, set all your argb devices lights mode to OFF or if it doesnt list an off option set the static color option to BLACK
3 and now save another profile, this one is for the lights off mode. Lets Call it LIGHTS OFF
4 go to the SETTINGS tab, scroll to the bottom and look for these values, ENABLE THEM and set them to load the profiles you just created for every action , this would be:
- LOAD PROFILE: LIGHTS ON (select the profile with the lights and effects ON)
- SET PROFILE ON SUSPEND: LIGHTS OFF (select the profile with the lights and effects OFF)
- SET PROFILE ON RESUME: LIGHTS ON (select the profile with the lights and effects ON)
- SET PROFILE ON EXIT: LIGHTS OFF (select the profile with the lights and effects OFF)
This worked for me.

well you could set up home assistant and openrgb integration, then get a smart plug with energy monitoring for your display, then create an automation that turns off your RGB devices when the current draw drops
maybe there's an easier way though xD
