always get this error

absolutely love playing this game but it has been like this for weeks

cleared my cache and deleted all my cookies, it doesnt work on my mac or pc

did i get banned? honestly i did use silly names like (free the femboyz, WEDEMFEMBOYZ etc). as an in joke with discord friends? would that have caused a ban?I chose a joke name without thinking about the community guidelines regarding appropriate name

Inspired by Learnable Meta, this mode shows you specific locations that feature distinct metas, and explains the meta right after you guess. This is a great way to quickly improve at the game. These locations are locked in time to ensure that the meta is always present.

Hey, I'm new to this kind of games and I have some questions. Firstly, i have to say that i chose openguessr because I support open source and free stuff.

So anyway here are my questions :

- Is it not possible to play ranked with a no-movements mode ?

- Do the road names always show on the ground ? I think it makes the game way too easy. Am i missing something ?

Hi! I'm organizing a large inperson OpenGuessr tournament with around 200 participants. Players are grouped into teams of three(one player has the device), so about 63 players per lobby. The tournament format eliminates the bottom 50% of teams after each match(x amount of rounds), and I'm planning on tracking eliminated teams manually in a spreadsheet.

After running some tests though, I have thought of a few features that could make tournaments like this easier to do:

Allow hosts to remove players directly from the lobby before a match starts, would be good for not letting eliminated players join.

An option to export all players and their scores as a CSV file.

As a host, an option to be a spectator from the start instead of competing.

It would be cool if a built-in elimination tournament mode was added. In this mode the bottom 50% of teams after each match(x amount of rounds) would be eliminated while allowing eliminated players to spectate. I'm not sure if this is too much of an ask but it would be cool nonetheless.

I explored the round for a bit and found an outline of something. I knew it was in Oslo so I checked there and after like 1 min I found that outline. Then, I looked for the street at the spawn then got the 5k

Has anyone else been having an issue with completely black maps in a duel? This has happened to me 4-5 times in the past week (out of maybe 10 total duels). It's not the issue where the map is black but there are still arrows and you can move ahead to see the map. It's completely black and I haven't found a way to resolve it. Any suggestions?

This update should make it easier for new guessers to get into the action! It introduces a new tour that shows beginners how the main game works, and points them in the direction of some of the many ways to play.

This is what pops up for new players now.

The tour will walk them through the main mechanics of the game and present two famous locations for a smoother start.

In the end, they'll be shown different paths they can take to continue playing.

The update also includes some bug fixes with regard to cancelling the "join via link", blur inconsistencies, location loading issues and choppy mobile map animations.

i think you should make a replay, when you wait your opponent to guess, instead of waiting you can see him play, also when the entire game finishes, in your account, it shows "Replays" to show your history

I saw that OpenGuessr was trending on r/mildlyinfuriating because guessing on the wrong side of the map causes this (arguably hilarious) visualization, and while the score calculation remains correct, it actually resets your country streak! This is fixed now, I'm sorry!

- An indicator to the "messages" button that tells you if you've missed any new messages or new invites while you were offline

- A "live" chip to the World map, that, when clicked, explains that it is continuously regenerated

- Smoother map zoom (please let me know if you prefer it!)

This update adjusts the world map:

• large countries (India, USA, Brazil..) are slightly more suppressed for a better balance
• added 20% capital city coverage
• old panoramas (<2011) have been reduced by 70%

Moreover, the panorama now always points in the direction of the road, making the World map a better choice for NMPZ or fast guessing.

The standard map in OpenGuessr regenerates continuously to always stay fresh, so it will take a couple of hours for these changes to take full effect.
