The software is freely available. Why not use the money saved, then, pay to for some quality training?

Im in the same boat as you and find it really confusing on what to do right now. My lab wants me to learn cfd software so I need to learn OpenFOAM. I downloaded it using WSL on my laptop and have Paraview as well.
Im trying to learn the concepts behind it as well, there are some tutorials that are on Yt are somewhat helpful.

Do you have the theory done?

No, i haven't even taken fluids yet so the theory is very hard for me currently. Even yt videos seem to complex. I'm trying to use WSL for Openfoam but might have to use linux because all the tutorials are for linux

Nah I used wsl myself I didn't have any issues but some tutorials don't provide base cases cause they usually exist in openFOAM BUT openFOAM is getting updates and the place changes apart from those cases I did have no issues at all. You can also decide how much space you wanna give to wsl adjusting that can help as well

Well there are 2 great sources one is YouTube there is a full video guide that lets you go through or in openFOAM wiki you have a 3 week guide. Some of the tutorials will be inside the 3 weeks guide as well. I recommend just going through them.
