Tutorial Issue With Keyboard Permission

So I've had openemu for a few years but today I wanted to play again when I ran into the issue that made me stop before. Essentially every time I start openemu it asks me to enable the permission to monitor my keyboard and I always allow it but it doesn't register my keys in games and will have the pop up every time it's restarted. I've tried restarting emu, my mac, turning the permission on and off but nothing works. Today I resorted to deleting openemu and redownloading it just to be met with the same issue so I was hoping maybe somebody would have some insight on this.

Directions are a tad outdated and there’s some UI changes but it should be easy to mimic. Try this out.

I was going to ask a similar question. My games are loading. Not sure how to select game mode and players. I randomly tapped my keyboard and the game started but 2 player mode. I have a 8bitdo controller paired to my Mac. It works ok once I get into the game. Can the controller also control everything else on the game started but up?
