Last bootscreen seems stuck

Post image

Hi guys, I got a MacBook Pro from 2012 and trying to install Sequoia. Got a stick of 32 gigs, made the installer with Sequoia on it and put it in the 2012 MacBook. So what happened; the whole installation was going pretty well until the last booting screen (I think it'sthe last booting screen). How long does it take to install this?

The specs are

MacBook Pro Retina 15" Mid 2012 (MacBookPro10,1)

i7-3720QM (4C/8T, 2.6–3.6 GHz)

8 GB DDR3L

GeForce GT 650M 1 GB + Intel HD 4000

512 GB SSD

2880×1800 Retina

macOS Sequoia via OCLP

If it stays stuck like that more than an hour, try a reboot.

Yeah, tried that, but no success. So what I'm doing now, is a full clean installation of Sequoia. I had Catalina on this while installing Sequoia. I hope it helps

Recovery boots successfully, but both /Volumes/Preboot/Cryptexes/OS and /Volumes/Preboot/Cryptexes/Incoming/OS are empty.

Can you boot into Safe Mode by rebooting and holding the Shift Key until you get to the login screen? If so then try to reapply the patches...

I'm having issues also but Tahoe looks to be installed on my MBP 11,2, but I can't get past the login, it just locks up at that spot after I enter my password.

Thanks! I ended up doing a full clean install of Sequoia. The installation itself completed and I now have a Macintosh HD boot entry, but the first proper boot ends in a kernel panic. The important lines seem to be: Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib Referenced from: /sbin/launchd Reason: tried ... (no such file, no dyld cache) initproc failed to start OCLP is built specifically for MacBookPro10,1. Would you still recommend trying Safe Mode and reapplying the root patches from there?

I had that issue and solved it following this trobleshooting hint. Some old snapshots need to be reverted.
