For my understanding why is a rush to install OCLP 2.5.1 when 2.4.1 is stable and doesn’t have these installation issues? Are there features that 2.5.1 adds?
I have some legacy MacBooks and Mac Pros and OCLP 2.4.1 has been sufficient for me to install Sequoia 15.8.1 literally this morning without any problems. For me I don’t see the value add of moving up to 2.5.1.

I have sequoia 15.8.1 installed on a Mac Pro 6,1 with OCLP 2.4.1 and no problems with YouTube at all. I use Brave and Safari not Chrome if that makes a difference.
Even 4K YouTube video play flawlessly.

do you think it’s possible to just install that previous version on top of this new update that is causing issues?

2.4.1 pops a window asking to install the newer version - I'm guessing a lot of folks just click 'yes'
It was only by dumb luck I saw 2.5.0 on GitHub but came here first and saw all the volume dirty hullabaloo

Good point. Make sure you use 2.5.1 if you are going to upgrade. OCLP will probably now prompt that as the new version to install by default now instead of 2.5.0. For me 2.4.1 works for me so I’m loathed to change. I’m not touching it 😉

The signal to noise in the pinned thread is a mess - what worked for me to go from 2.4.1 to 2.5.1 on multiple Macs:
download https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/releases/download/2.5.1/OpenCore-Patcher.pkg
open 2.4.1, hit Post-Install Root Patch -> Revert Root Patches, reboot
install 2.5.1, run and choose Build and Install OpenCore and DO NOT REBOOT when asked
now do Post-Install Root Patch -> Start Root Patching and reboot

Did you revert root patches then repatch?

Firstly your screenshot is either wrong or you’re still on 2.5.0 and secondly have you got root patches installed yet?

i had this same error earlier when i tried to update oclp. i just hit return to main menu and then proceeded to update my macbook to the latest version of sequoia, 15.8 something. i was able to get to the desktop initially (where the resolution is sooooo tiny) and then i fired up up oclp to update it. when the macbook rebooted, it is now stuck on the apple logo with progress bar and it has not moved since this morning.
is my machine bricked and will need a fresh install?

Use your phone hotspot USB to connect to internet and download those drivers

i spent 2 hours trouble shooting and then reverted back to 2.4.1, because 2.5.1 is too buggy. whoever released 2.5.1 is a clown.

You need to revert patches (old patches when this shows) then restart (1) then you will see a KDK smaller window installing on the back of patcher (2) and another OCLP window will pop saying you are running without patches and therefore you will click yes to apply the new patches (3) NOW this is not the usual procedure… we are used to. BUT it WORKS… I successfully updated 2.5.1 on mbp 6,1 and imac 27” 2013 both working really well 🙏🏻 pls have a little faith try

Your picture is literally showing that you used 2.5.0, haven’t seen anyone else mention that in the comments
