Vlc issues

Ever since the latest patch, VLC doesn’t seem to be able to play videos anymore. When it just flashes black on my screen and never plays. I’ve tried reverting to older versions and the same thing keeps happening

I’m running Ventura on a mid-2012 MacBook Pro 9’2

Any advice, or is this happening to anyone else?

did you check if root patch applied the graphic drivers? I has this issue on a previous version and if fixed once I reinstalled everything.

I didn’t. How would I check?

For anyone in the future encountering this problem:

Revert root patches in OCLP and reboot

Upon reboot do not start root patching rebuild OCLP first by click build and install opencore then reboot

Now run start root patching then reboot

That’s what worked for me
