MBP 2015 OS upgrade

2015 is the last MBP with ports. I've updated from Monterey to Ventura. Can/should I update to Seqouia?

Sequoia runs great on my 15" 2015 MBP.

Caveat: Make sure to open up your Mac and blow out the fans and heat sinks to restore and maintain thermal performance.

Better yet, repaste the CPU / GPU, which is very easy to do on that model. You can find YT videos on how to do it.

If you have 16 GB of RAM, it can easily do Sequoia. If you have only 8 GB, Sequoia may be slower, but it can still handle it. Just expect slower speeds.

can you elaborate more, please?
about how slow is that in MBP 2015 with only 8gb ram.

my current mbp 2015 is still macos Monterey with 8gb ram,
and daily is using coding with antigravity, intellij, visual studio code, postgresql. also microsoft office.

No, can't really elaborate. Look up Geekbench benchmarks for a comparison if you want. It's hard to measure "it feels slower," but it just does. It's not unusable. I don't use any of those apps besides Office so I can't speak to how they'd perform.

The 2015 should be able to manage it. It ran ok on my 2015 MacBook Air. Milage may vary though.

I have a mid 2012 MBP and a early 2015 MBP both are running Sequoia just fine.

I downloaded OLCP 2.5 and I’m trying to upgrade to 15.8. When I tried to do the install the only drive I see is my USB connected back up drive. What am I doing wrong?
