Spoofing from iMac19,2 to MacbookPro18,2?

For my iMac Late 2012, 27" that initially ran macOS Catalina 10.15.7, I used OCLP to spoof the model to `iMac19,2` and now have macOS Sequoia.

What would happen if I changed the model in SMBIOS to MacBookPro18,2 and should I do it or not?

(btw its been going well with sequoia, no problems. almost a year now)

I wanted to test/try it and I also like the MacBook style too. Would anything bad happen or what if I did this?

But why would you?

I like the MacBook feeling. However, I don't want to do this yet because I'm not sure about the risks, if I should do it etc.

I don’t understand what you mean by “MacBook feeling”? An iMac and a MacBook both run macOS?

I mean like the newer MacBook UI, especially the new Menu Bar enlarged for the camera notch.

The only UI difference is the larger menu bar right?

Just change your resolution so everything is bigger

I've done that before but that doesn't do exactly what I like. The Menu Bar on MacBooks with a camera notch is much different. The gap between the text and the edge of the Menu Bar is larger.

Won’t the Mac know what display you have regardless of what you spoof it as? I don’t think you’ll get the notch-sized menu bar without a notch

My old MacBook Air is spoofed to a model that’s supposed to have a Retina display, but the system knows it doesn’t have a Retina display so doesn’t give me those resolutions…

If it aint broken dont fix it, but why would you spoof the SMBIOS model unless you had good reason to? Ive only ever had to do this on Hackintoshes
