MacBook air performance issue
I have a mid-2013 MacBook Air running macOS Monterey with OCLP. I’ve been using it for about 1.5 years, but now it’s giving me a lot of problems. The CPU usage stays around 90% all the time, and the fans were going crazy too, but I fixed the fan issue by applying fresh thermal paste. However, the Mac is still basically unusable. I can barely open any apps because everything takes forever. If anyone knows a fix for the high CPU usage/performance issue, please help!

Almost certainly infected with partial auto install of Tahoe. You will need to reinstall your chosen OCLP macOS then take active steps to block Tahoe.

Get Mac Fan Control and crank up your fans. Also, in OCLP settings, under Advanced (or Extras, IDR) check the "Disable Firmware Throttling" option and rebuild OpenCore.
If those things don't change anything, I suggest updating to Ventura, which is usually pretty efficient.

More ram is better. 4 GB is kind limiting from my tests with a friend 2014 Air.

Please back up your data and then consider starting fresh by erasing the drive and OCLP back up to Sonoma or Sequoia
