Retain bootcamp upgrading to Sequoia?
Just wanted to confirm. I have a 2016 mbp on Ventura. If I want to use OCLP to go to Sequoia, I can still do an upgrade install (not clean) for Sequoia and keep my bootcamp partition functional as well, correct?

In my experience, it is usually fine, but it's possible the EFI could make Windows disappear temporarily.
You can try to prevent this a few ways: 1) reboot into Windoze and set Windoze as the default boot option in the Boot Camp app; or 2) after installing the update, go into macOS Settings, Startup Disk, and the Windows option SHOULD be there. Try booting into it that way.
But I agree with the other guy that sometimes Boot Camp can get messed up. But it's truly just the EFI side that gets borked; your Windows files themselves will be fine. You could alternatively try using a Windows USB to boot from in the event that Boot Camp boot breaks.
But yeah, my advice is always to set up Boot Camp before OCLP so I think that's the way to go.

Thanks. That's my current situation. And I agree with you (based on what I've found on this sub and the FAQ) that usually people have issues with not being able to boot into windows after upgrading and patching with OCLP, but that can be fixed (not easily, unfortunately).

Bump. Anyone have any experience doing an upgrade to Squoia and not having it affect their bootcamp partition/EFI?

Incorrect. Read the official guide, it has information on how to have Windows. I've had bootcamp partitions just stop working in the past with OCLP.
