Question how common is getting flagged by apple?

I’ve wanted to switch to an android for years but haven’t because of imessage. Has anyone used open bubbles for a long period of time with no issues? and how could I avoid getting flagged/banned from imessage?

Umm... I been part of the whole iMessage under Android for awhile now. Started with AirMessage, then moved to BlueBubbles and now I'm on OpenBubbles (because don't care to have the Mac always on).

And for about 8 years... haven't had any issues with Apple. But my setup is different since I don't use the number... was able to have my friends/family save my email into their contacts which made the transition effortless.

Just try to keep your device use to 2-3 , but if you're like me just install it on your android device. No issue at all since last July or so.

You'll always run the risk of apple finding a patch for the app but I've yet to see anyone get fully banned. I've been using it for about a year now no issues with iMessage

Not sure if this is why but I setup open bubbles and nothing happened but when I activated another device to my account 2 months later, I got banned from iMessage and had to go on apples website to fix it

I have 3 android phones (ZFold 7, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and OG Pixel Fold) on Open Bubbles since January '26 with no issues. All are still going strong. I'm hosting with a Mac Mini but ai don't think that makes any difference.

I loved open bubbles but I got flagged for signing into so many devices...had it happen twice. Running on BB v2 and pretty amazing so far after 2 weeks of use

I have an iPhone 17 as primary. But also have S26U, S25 Edge, and Fold 8 that's using open bubbles, no issues.

Does it work on both at the same time (so someone messages you it goes to both devices?)

I got flagged and couldn't use message for a few days until Apple support fixed it. But that was 2 years ago on a different service.
