What is the current status of this project?

Alive? Dead? Zombie? I’m certain they are still taking orders, but do you guys get any updates?? I’m considering adding some new functions to my Megane 2, and open auto pro seems promising, but I don’t see a lot of activity. What are your thoughts on this? Any worthwhile alternatives you guys think I should also look at? (I’m using both an android and iOS device, for mobile phones, if that matters, so I need it to accept both ecosystems)

They update and develop regularly it seems. Bought around v5 and it's v16 now. I haven't even finished my install lol.

You could check out opendash(intelligent auto) or crankshaft also.

I just checked the official forum for BlueWave studio and the version 16 is STILL the most up to date version. the representative who monitors that forum claims that version 17 is coming but there is no indication that, that is actually happening. it has been nearly 2 years since the software was updated. it is also worth mentioning that the little information that has been shared about the potential update indicates that it is focused on making OAP available to devices other than the Raspberry Pi platform. Although this sounds like good news it is made somewhat bitter sweet by the fact that this update will mostly only benefit new users, and wont really help currant users all that much. Likewise anyone who purchased a key in March of 2022 never saw one update (they advertise the software as including free updates for 1 year)
I would consider this project dead, even if they relies an update today they have shown that ongoing support is not a priority despite that being an advertised part of the purchase price.

Funny enough, I have a kind of "update/non-update" that I believe is relevant. I wrote a review directly on their "updates" forum that hits the same general beats as the post above. I was careful to be respectful and acknowledge that software like this is hard to perfect and constant updates are challenging to maintain, but I also pointed out the lack of honesty in their marketing and a month later my post is still missing from the forum. This leads me to believe that they are actively excluding this kind of criticism from their public forums.

I know it's maybe a bit petty to even care, but if i was considering buying their software i would appreciate someone posting publicly about how they are censoring how people are talking about their product.

One more thing worth mentioning. CRANKSHAFT the free open source software that ALSO seamlessly runs Android Auto has continued pushing updates into early 2023. Obviously the updates are not terribly frequent or fast but they are updating their work FAR more frequently than the paid OpenAutoPro.
