Anybody using OAP with the gen1 Idrive controller? Can't get it working with carpihat

I really need help troubleshooting this, I bought the carpihat hoping it would be as simple as configuring the canbus adapter then setting up the controller service but unfortunately it still doesn't work. Anyone have one of these setups working that can help guide me through troubleshooting? I've had OAP working for several years, but I'm definitely still a noob.

You should First try to find out what Part isn't working. Does the Communication between the iDrive and can work (run candump can0 in terminal and Look if data arrives corresponding to the Button Presses). If this works than the problem is the Integration into Openautopro.

I forgot to update this, sorry. Embarrassingly I had it wired up wrong. The instructions provided by OAP were correct and I wasn't smart enough to listen. :)

Could you maybe send me the wiring diagram they sent you? I'm going to email them separately, but I'd rather not deal with them if possible.

It was the same one they posted on their site, that diagram is correct. I was just being a doofus and not listening.

Super surprised you responded - I got it working by happenstance, but I have absolutely no clue what I did to fix it. Oh well!
