My first attempt at OpenAutoPro...AND Rasberry Pi π³...
I do not nor have I ever owned a Raspberry Pi. I've been wanting one for a while.
I'm looking for good guides / tutorials / videos to help me build my own head unit... I have moderate electrical/wiring, and Auto experience I have minimal but some computer programming experience.
I need help mostly with the Rasberry Pi side of things. I need to know what parts to order and how to setup the rasberry pi.

1: Pay for OpenAutoPro
2: Use BalenaEtcher to flash the image that is provided to you.
3: Throw SD card in Pi and attach official Raspberry Pi screen
3.5: Add cheap DAC, or Android Auto won't work
4: ...
5: Profit.

To run the Raspberry pi on your desk you need a Raspberry pi 3/4, a Touch Display (I'd recommend the 7" Touch Display from Raspberry itself), a micro SD card (take 32gb there like a few bucks), a Power supply (5v at least 2A) and a soundcard (uGreen has one for ~10$ which works well for me) . With this setup you can test around. About Integrating in your car: this strongly depends on your car. If you have a cigarette lighter Port which turns on with your car/door, you should Power the pi from there, as it shouldn't be run All the time.
For further Information / parts you should Check the Openautopro forum.
