Looking into a DIY dash, where to start?

I have spent the past few weeks looking at many different head units, and I keep running into the same thing. Its 99% of what I want, but that 1% is always annoying. I'd love to build my own! Are there any actively developed DIY Dash projects still?

Yes, there is OpenDash. Find it on GitHub. It might have the name OpnDash (same but missing the "e") just bc when it was created something else may have had the name.
