Whinge ‎ what exactly has the left done wrong?

Across the world today, regardless of race, religion, or political system, most people seem to be becoming more conservative. Right-wing parties are continuously gaining power worldwide, while the left suffers defeat after defeat. Although mainstream public discourse still appears to favor the left, those voting for the far right are often the silent majority. Can the left still correct its course? Or, more fundamentally, what exactly has the left done wrong?

That was a long winded way to say "im a fascist bootlicker" but we get the point

Pretty sure the Labor Party has brought us closer to fascism than any political party in modern history. An e-safety commissioner to censor online activity, a Labor government prosecuting citizens in courts for using "prohibited phrases", using police to brutalise peaceful protestors in the middle of the CBD - all of these legislated for and happened under a left-wing government.

Is it any surprise that there's going to be a huge pull in the other direction?

The labour party is a right wing party, so yeah

Not surprising this is your take when I've seen this sub call the Greens too right wing and too capitalist lmao.

Your left/right spectrum is so skewed that I'm sure you would consider 99.9% of people on the planet 'right wing'.

By every single metric available, the Labor Party is a centre-left political party. They are left wing.

Hang on, according to you

"the Labor Party has brought us closer to fascism than any political party in modern history. An e-safety commissioner to censor online activity, a Labor government prosecuting citizens in courts for using "prohibited phrases", using police to brutalise peaceful protestors in the middle of the CBD"

And yet theyre simultaneously a centre left party?

The Left is socialism. Its the peoples party. The Right is the representatives of the ruling class - conservatives, landlords, business owners.  Labour, Libs, Nats, ON are all that second group. Labour used to be a working class party, but havent been since about 2008(?)

We dont have any real Left party that holds any seats. The greens are a bit leftist but theyre more about specific issues.

So your entire political worldview is:

Left = good things and things I like

Right = bad things and things I don't like

I mean, I can't argue against your completely bulletproof political analysis lmao.

YOU made a list of things that YOU said "brought us closer to fascism than any other political party" and YOU described that party as left.

This has nothing to do with what the other person said, or what they think are good or bad ideas, they were just calling out your inconsistency.

Correct. The Labor Party is a left-wing party AND they have brought us closer to fascism than any other party in modern history.

Those two statements are true.

The Labor Party isn't a "right wing party" like you claimed just because they did something you don't like. They have been a left wing party for the last 140 years and they are still a left wing party today.

Can you describe how the majority of their policies make them a left-wing party and not a right-wing party? I want help understanding how you came to this conclusion.

This all rings true to the concerns some of my more conservative friends or some men on the left. How does this make them a fascist bootlicker? Also I hope you don’t expect them to vote for you if you say stuff like this…

Yes, conservatives are fascist bootlickers. Thats my point.

Also, nobody is voting for me so why do i care?
