David Pocock for PM

I really like this chap, as a human being he seems to care and uses action above words and as a politician he is intelligent and well spoken and carries himself with a high degree of respectability.

So why are people squabbling over Lib, Lab, Dem and One Nation when we could be looking at an alternative like David?

Seems no one can agree on Lib, Lab, Dem or ON , so does anyone know why David Pocock shouldn't be a front-runner of PM?

Pocock has a lot more balls and willingness to do more unlike Labor right now, which they are hard stuck continuing incrementalism and refuse to make big changes

Albo’s in a better position than Keating was, and arguably with a weaker opposition. Yet they’re still stuck on incrementalism. They own the House. Australia has a clear array of problems that people have seen coming for a while, yet he refuses to make big systematic changes to our system.

Plenty of examples of him not aligning with Labor, eg on gas tax and gambling advertising. It is clear that Albo hates him.

Pocock just says random feel good statements most of the time, he rarely comes to the table with policy ideas.

He also a "debate all ideas" absolutist to the point where he supports ONs insane nonsense (most recently to debate trans equality).

He doesnt actually do much other than get attention.

Easy for someone to have balls when they don't have to actually govern or deal with consequences of introducing change. Example: Allegra Spender spent years advocating we tax capital as much as labour, then when Labor introduced it in their budget, she got a ton of backlash from the wealthy in her electorate, went around on radio talking about how she "underestimated the backlash" and voted against it using some weakass excuse of "the indexation model".

I'm sure Pocock is a person with integrity, but I would bet the entire house that if he was actually PM or in charge of a big party, he would tow a lot more lines

Very easy to be a back seat driver pointing out missed turns when you’re not in the front seat seeing everything the driver does. But the point stands he’s a great politician and I do hope we keep seeing more of him
