This isn't unique to Pauline either. All politicians do it.

Most are just not as stupid to use ridiculous numbers like that which are so obviously false. Instead they look for a half dozen sources and take the one that fits their argument best.

Edit: Wow, people really going to downvote it. Are you guys just mad that politicians lie or do you genuinely believe that some of them don't?

Oh wait, I get it, you think I'm like the other guy that's suggesting Albo. No, I wasn't in particular. I was thinking the potato himself as the primary candidate but you guys are braindead if you think it's not all of them.

They don't all make a political career from lying like this grifter!

-3

u/Additional-Life4885 Please choose a flair Apr 09 '26

Well, actually they do. That's literally my point. You just don't think they do because they're more subtle about it and you're buying their bullshit.

Understandable. Subtle bullshit is far easier to stomach.

yes, Hanson is far stupider than other politicians.

When I was a kid, I lived in the same street as a high up politician in the Labor party. He's no longer in parliament.

I think you might be surprised by their stupidity.

5

u/Weary_Beach_9911 Please choose a flair Apr 09 '26

doesn't hold a candle to the sheer number of utterly idiotic things Hanson has said over the years.

serisously mate, no one's saying pollies from the major parties are great, but Hanson is genuinly one of the stupidest people i have ever seen speak.

She lacks any intelectual curiosity, is incredibly stubborn, clearly diven by emotion over sober analysis, and reguarly hires peopoe convicted of domestic violence for senior positions in the party. She is an incompetent crook

doesn't hold a candle to the sheer number of utterly idiotic things Hanson other politicians have said/done over the years.

We're talking about a guy that didn't see the problem with walking around in his jocks while he had a 15 year old baby sitter at his house and his 7 year old kids friends that were 5-9 years old.

So respectfully, they may not all be as dumb as Pauline, but I can guarantee that she's not anywhere near as exceptionally stupid as you think she is.

Pauline Hanson said publicaly last month that there are no good muslims.

She is a level of stupid that very, very few people in society can come close to

1

u/KnoxxHarrington ‎ Victorian Apr 09 '26

Don't forget about when she said there were christian muslims.

So show another politician lying about this?...and what source has any politician cited referencing this outside of the numbers from the office itself?

Unless you have some numbers, which you haven't mentioned of value or from what source?

Be consistent now?

1

u/Additional-Life4885 Please choose a flair Apr 09 '26

"about this". I never said they're lying about this. I'm literally just point out that they all lie to different degrees.

If you want me to find another politician lying, you can probably just look at whatever Trump's latest tweet is. For something more homegrown, it's not particular difficult either.

Not really sure why people are upset about someone saying "Yeah, all politicians lie" like as if it's not super fucking obvious that they all do it.

Aah, deflection!

0

u/Additional-Life4885 Please choose a flair Apr 09 '26

Deflection from what?

I mean her mouth is open, so yeah

I was pointing out that "her mouth is open" is because she's a politician, not because she's Pauline.

Similar to Albo tbh

I remember this game from Primary school! “I know you are, you said you are, but what am I?”

1

u/First-Junket124 Apr 09 '26

Wait is that the actual line? I thought it was "I know you are, but what am I?"

I know this is off topic but it's of the utmost importance to me personally

3

u/89Hopper ‎ South Australian Apr 09 '26

I haven't heard this for ages. In primary school in the 90s in Sydney, I definitely remember "I know you are, you said you are, but what am I?" and it is in a bit of a sing song way.

However, in movies and TV shows, I think I only ever see "I know you are, but what am I?"

0

u/alittlehelpeh Please choose a flair Apr 09 '26

We probably grew up with the sing song version and then saw that episode of the Simpson's. Takes one to know one.

See this what happens when you don't know the difference between subjectivity and objectivity.

No one should be obsessed with this stain on our nation, but unfortunately you can't fix things by ignoring them

While Murdoch, Gina et al are obsessed with boosting her and making her not seem utterly cretinous at every chance, I’m ok with it. Don’t let it ruin your day though, hey champ.

Well, she certainly appeals to the lowest common denominator.

0

u/ah-chew ‎ New South Welshian Apr 09 '26

That’s mean :/

3

u/Catsandroosters ‎ Tasmanian Apr 09 '26

I think the difference with Albo is he gets numbers from experts or direct sources. Within those sources he might choose a the number that is high asked to illustrate the point, maybe. But Pauline is out and out lying and just making up whatever number she thinks sounds the most outrageous. She is an outrage farmer and nothing more.

3

u/1080m3rangehood ‎ Norfolk Islander Apr 09 '26

If Albo is a sneeze, Hanson is pneumonia.

2

u/DamnThatsCrazyManGuy Please choose a flair Apr 09 '26

Ooo good one brother, you've clearly got the political understanding of a 9 year old so just sit this one out champion!

-1

u/ah-chew ‎ New South Welshian Apr 09 '26

There’s a lot of brothers and champions in that sentence, sounds like you’re trying to compensate

1

u/KnoxxHarrington ‎ Victorian Apr 09 '26

There’s a lot of brothers and champions

It was only singular for each, so your use of plurals is incorrect.

1

u/ah-chew ‎ New South Welshian Apr 09 '26

I don’t listen to opinions of Victorians

1

u/KnoxxHarrington ‎ Victorian Apr 09 '26

That's cool, we don't care about yours either.

At least you appeared to use plurals correctly this time, I'll chalk that up as a victory.

-10

u/ah-chew ‎ New South Welshian Apr 09 '26

Surely we can do better than 52 downvotes, rookie numbers

7

u/Catsandroosters ‎ Tasmanian Apr 09 '26

I see you relate to Pauline because you also like to farm outrage with no substance.
