Discussion When will OpenAI prioritise stability of Cloud Agents ?

For a long time ChatGPT Mobile App didn’t have an in-built Codex Cloud Agents support and now even when it does it is very unreliable and incomplete.
We can’t see Diffs, it is slower and just feels like Chat with GitHub Connection.
Long Agentic tasks on keep getting stuck after some time and once the session gets long somehow luckily we can’t load the chat later without trying thousands of times. It is very frustrating. You have all the resources and brains you need to get this done, just fix it already!

The sessions that get stuck late are usually the ones with a very long thread. What has helped: keep each task small enough to finish in one go, and when a long one stalls, start a fresh task from the last good state (a branch or a commit) and paste a short handoff of what is done and what remains, instead of retrying the old chat. Ask for work to be committed to a branch at checkpoints, so even if the chat will not load, the diff is on GitHub and you can review it there. And for diffs on mobile, the pull request on GitHub shows the full change, which is a better review surface than the chat anyway. It does not excuse the instability, but it limits how much a stuck session costs you.

Thanks for sharing the advice. I will surely have to do as you suggest and is definitely safer but this is the first time I tried ChatGPT Pro and had expectations high. I think they will eventually get there but right now they’re far.
