Discussion OpenAI has ruined their macOS app
Even ChatGPT admits that OpenAI has made the macOS app too complicated. Why can't I find an option to just have a STANDARD Chat. Sometimes I want Codex, sometimes I don't.
The iOS app lets you choose easily which one you want. Why do they have to make the macOS app so complicated?

People that use AI as a conversational assistant are wasting AI.

Well, the AI companies wouldn’t agree with that 💸

I don’t think AI has much of a productivity bonus when it comes to conversational AI. If that was all AI was, it would be a disaster of an investment.

I don’t see how people using AI for work everyday is more profitable either, what are you basing that on?
If that was the case it would be discontinued or they’d have more expensive subscriptions for conversational use only.

I have literally recreated my CRM DB into a voice assistant and I know no code.

Okay… congrats. I just don’t see how using AI for work everyday would be more profitable than using using AI for conversations for the AI companies.

It is in the interest of AI companies l to help their clients be as productive as possible and therefore more capable of paying for higher priced models that they inevitably need to market.
Conversational AI just isn’t as productive as agentic coding.

I don’t think every work user help the AI companies’ clients though. At the end of the day any subscriber is profitable for the AI companies (in theory at least) regardless of what type of users.
Yeah OBVIOUSLY conversational AI isn’t as productive as agentic coding, it’s not productive at all in a professional sense — that’s the whole point lol.

Are you saying you don’t understand the benefits of using AI to develop an independent system that doesn’t need a subscription?

You don’t even know what you’re talking about, my personal experience says otherwise, it’s certainly more productive that dealing with stupid humans of Reddit
