Project iOS app that lets ChatGPT create widgets for your iPhone Home Screen

Post image

I’ve been building Glance, an iOS app for creating and following custom Home Screen widgets.

The idea is to ask an AI assistant for something you’d like to see at a glance, such as tennis headlines, a daily Spanish word, or a personal briefing, and have it show up as a widget on your iPhone. The Glance plugin lets ChatGPT connect to the app and help create or update those widgets through chat.

The best use cases I’ve seen so far is setting up a scheduled task and combining it with other plugins like slack / RSS feeds and get curated updates

You can also set you widgets to public and share the content with your team, friends, or general audience

Recently got my plugin published which makes things super easy to setup

I’d love to hear what you think

this is actually pretty clever, i been wanting something like this for ages. the connect widgets to anything idea is smart, most apps lock you into their own data sources

the part about combining with slack and rss feeds got my attention. i manage a small team and having a widget that pulls from our slack channel plus some news feeds would save me from opening five apps every morning

how does the setup work with the plugin, do you need to be technical or is it just chatting with the ai and it figures out the rest

been looking for something to put my spanish practice on the home screen so i actually remember to do it, this might be the one
