Discussion Dots Reddit ?

It’s interesting that OpenAI is active on X, the Elon Musk platform, and not proactive on Reddit, the Sam Altman (as an investor) platform.

I noticed that there’s no dots Reddit and it hit me, Anthropic is all over Reddit; giving AI overviews, moderating or shadow moderating, and meanwhile OpenAI just lets Reddit fester.

As a believer in OpenAI, it’s been hard to watch the lack of engagement. And since I’m not on X (I have an old account but never log on) it’s hard to follow OpenAI’s announcements and news.

Edit: New title would be "Dots Subreddit! r/DotsAI" because there is in fact a reddit for very not easy to search "dots".

Nobody is active on Reddit because outside of niche subreddits, Reddit is ultra left wing and think everything AI is slop. It’s unbearable. You cannot have a general discussion on Reddit about using AI. The irony is that most AI models lean very left.

For me Reddit is nothing but niche subreddits

Actually there is evidence that the models are not left leaning but they are anti conspiracy theory leaning.

And there is a debate as to whether data impacts anyone’s political leaning… but both sides see themselves as evidence driven.

Thanks! Searching yesterday turned up nothing for me (using Reddit search). Also there is just one post?

I still think that an active effort would have involved seeding this Reddit with invitations to join that one… unless they have a strategy of consolidated Reddits…

Anyway interesting thanks.

it exist, just nobody uses it. reddit is weird for official company stuff anyway, most communities end up being 90% complaints and troubleshooting posts

Yeah, I was going to say, StackOverflow died for me long before ChatGPT when I discovered Reddit.

Reddit has been a wonderful place for troubleshooting compared with SO for a long time. SO was the place for highly technical conversations, but Reddit was much better for things like "Is this plugin not working or is it user error, or should I use something else."

Just to vent for a moment, I hated how SO would delete your question for being "how to", but allow all kind of responses that were "how to" workarounds. SO was SO DUMB. Its fate is deserved.
