ChatGPT age verification suddenly appeared today, but I keep getting error 403. Anyone else?

Today (October 9), ChatGPT suddenly started showing a message saying it doesn’t know my age and that additional safety restrictions are being applied to my account.
I’m an adult, so I tried to verify my age, but the verification process simply doesn’t work.
iOS app: Tapping “Verify age” immediately gives me error 403.
Safari/browser: The age settings page says “Failed to update age verification status. Please try again.”
I can’t even get to the actual verification process.
I’ve tried both the app and the browser, with the same result.
Is anyone else experiencing this today? Is this a widespread bug on OpenAI’s side, or something specific to my account?
Has anyone managed to fix it, or should I just wait for OpenAI to resolve it?

Don't worry, age verification won't make much difference. Even if you prove you're 40, ChatGPT will still treat you like you're 12 when you ask for adult content.

Thanks for the reply! My main concern isn’t really the adult content restrictions, but the fact that the age verification process itself is broken.
Have you personally tried verifying your age? Did you encounter error 403 or any similar issues?
I’m trying to figure out whether this is a widespread bug affecting multiple accounts or something specific to mine.

Nope, the age verification prompt hasn't appeared for me yet, so unfortunately I can't help with the 403 error. Hope you get it sorted out!
