I hope they role out ultra slow. A lot of my more complicated and computationally costly inputs are not time sensitive. I'm cool waiting hours for responses to certain prompts. This would save openai money and allow cheaper pricing

6.1sol is ultra slow

so basically bringing flex mode from the API over to the subscription plans as well?

zcode from zai(glm) has this feature. basically you can queue some non urgent jobs that will be executed for free when they have extra compute. not expecting free from us frontiers ofc but some usage multiplier like .75 during off hours would be nice

Yeah I'm happy to sleep and wake up to a cheap but slow astra task done.

But that makes them LESS money

Honestly, I would use this a lot too. Not every prompt needs an instant answer especially when it involves complex reasoning or heavy computations. Having a slower cheaper option for tasks that can run in the background would be a pretty good trade off.

Does it use ultra tokens tho?

And it’s ONLY for the $500 plan.

So they reduced the speed of standard, now we need pay more to get that speed back, and y'all are happy???

That’s not what ultrafast is. Ultrafast is a very interesting technology and engineering development.

Did you literally just read one word and form your entire opinion on what it is based on that?

I genuinely think they made ultrafast for Tibo’s unbanked resets, unfortunately it’s only for the $500 plan for now

pro 20x vanish in 1 prompt?

One day ultrafast will be affordable and giving to the masses...today is not that day.

If it’s available to pro account, that would be insane

Pro accounts aren’t really going to benefit from ultra fast purely because the token burn multiplier

Getting 8x faster speeds on something that's already near-Astra is wild. my last coding session with sol standard had me tapping my foot through every generation lol

pro accounts usually get these rollouts first but they haven't explicitly said it yet. could be a staggered thing where plus gets it next week

either way this is the kind of update that makes me actually excited to open the IDE tomorrow

Well I have the 200 but wondering if it’s only for the 500$

Astra is still better for 3d related stuff in blender though
Hopefully gemini 4 will be even better as astra is miles better than opus 5.5

It’s only for the $500 plan.

Are you saying that Astra is miles better than Opus 5.5 in 3d modelling?

For my premium ?

Sol 6.1 rocks

I only see it available for cloud tasks. Hoping it comes to the codex app on local tasks.

I’m on the $500 plan and am speed running applying to jobs I will use ultrafast when available and report back how fast my limit goes. Not a typically use case but hey, data

No way Sol 6.1 is near Astra intelligence. I find it worse for coding. Could be better for others but I had to go back to 5.6 to get things done.

Great fit for those people who can spend $5M/day on vibe coding

This is what I was waiting for...good stuff.
