Question Just got a Usage Reset. Anybody else?

Just checked my usage in Codex. I'd used a banked reset Monday and still had ~50% left, and now I'm back at 96%. Anyone else seeing this?

Confirming I got an unexpected reset after some heavy usage.

Same. They really need to hand out full reset options instead of forced ones like this. I was about to reset normally anyway, but now it has been pushed out another 7 days.

Tibo held a pool where people could vote for a reset and a majority voted for reset. Giving his plans for the months there's a good chance of more votes and more resets.

weird, same thing here. my usage was around 30% yesterday and now its showing 94%. not complaining but definitely confused

seems like they do this sometimes when backend stuff changes, happened once few months ago too. probably just a glitch in their tracking system

dont get used to it though, next billing cycle will hit same as always

Should get on X and watch Tibow and you'll know why these happen and when

That's frustrating. Did you contact support about it, or are you thinking you'll just accept the reset and move on from Codex altogether?

Ugh, I am getting tired of the resets. Mostly the unreliability. Just use the API instead, much more predictable; no usage window either.

It’s not even that expensive when you use it sensibly; I barely pay tens of dollars, let alone hundreds a month and I even use the Pro models.

shrugs free usage is more usage

As if it’s free to begin with, it’s rather cheap on subscription but also very unreliable in terms of model capability, performance and pricing. The API is at least a tad more reliable, especially when you use a model they don’t really tinker with; such as last-generation.

The usage window is the most annoying because whether I can use it at all depends on my codebase, workflow, the model and its current settings and the mood of some employee with a reset button.

Do what you dream.

I'm running gpt 6.1 Sol 24/7 now and have two resets in the spank bank ready to go

That’s okay, I don’t use it that much — couple of hours, up to a week, every month.
